Road communications:
Road communications have improved notably in the last few years with the construction of motorways and freeways that take us straight to the Mar Menor from anywhere in Spain.
From Madrid, follow the A-3 Madrid-Valencia motorway and take the detour to Albacete in Honrrubia, N-301, a recently constructed motorway that will take us straight to Murcia. Continue along this motorway to Cartagena, or take the exit in Puerto de la Cadena to San Javier following the Mar Menor C-3319 freeway.
From Barcelona, follow the Mediterranean AP-7 motorway, which goes along the coast. Once you have passed Elche, take the exit in AP-7 to San Pedro del Pinatar and Cartagena.
From the centre and north of the Peninsula, go towards Madrid first and then follow the previously mentioned route. Another option is to go from Zaragoza along the N-330 to Teruel, take the N-234 to Valencia, and then take the AP-7 until reaching the Mar Menor.
From Andalucía, follow the A-92 and then take the N-301 to Cartagena. At the end of Puerto de la Cadena go towards San Javier along the Mar Menor freeway C-3319. Another option is to take in Albacete the A-37 Alicante-Cartagena motorway, which goes to San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier and Los Alcázares, and then the freeway MU-312 up to La Manga.
